COACHES' PROFILES
Kelly LaFountain, Head Coach
2007-2008 is Coach LaFountain's 8th season.... A native of Sanford, Maine, Coach Kelly LaFountain took over the helm of the Eagles program in the 2000-2001 season. After starring in three sports at Sanford High School, Coach LaFountain accepted a basketball scholarship to the University of Maine. While at UMaine, she was elected team captain in her junior and senior seasons and received the Coach's Award her senior year. After graduating with a degree in business administration in 1989, she returned briefly to Sanford H.S. where she coached the girls' freshmen team for the 1989-1990 season.
The 1990-1991 season found her in Rutland, Vermont, where she took over as head coach of the women's basketball team for the College of St. Joseph. During her tenure at CSJ, she was the coach of that school's first team ever to win the Mayflower Conference basketball championship. On October 20, 2001, this team was inducted into the College of St. Joseph Sports Hall of Fame for their efforts. Coach LaFountain also coached the women's soccer and softball teams at CSJ. At the completion of her time in Vermont, Coach returned to Maine. For the 1993-94 season, she coached the Bates College women's basketball and soccer teams. Following her season at Bates, Coach LaFountain left coaching for a time in order to obtain her master's degree and start a family. She currently resides in Topsham with her husband and two children.

Walter Foster, Junior Varsity
Coach Foster graduated from Richmond High School in 1982, where he played varsity soccer, baseball and basketball for the Bobcats, earning All-State soccer honors as a senior. Following graduation, he attended Husson College where he played soccer and baseball, earning all-conference soccer honors as a sophomore for the Braves.
For the past 12 years, Coach Foster has been with the Eagles as Junior Varsity basketball coach, and spent one year as Freshmen basketball coach. He also spent three years coaching Varsity softball at MTA. Additionally, he has guided the Midcoast Legion Baseball team for six years. An active member in the athletic community, Coach Foster has spent the last fourteen years as a Midcoast Board soccer official, and the past thirteen years on the Central Maine Baseball Umpires Association board. Coach Foster currently resides in Brunswick.
